User Guide

With the o2 Conference Service you can communicate very easily - without a lot of preparation:
From the german o2 network, simply dial +49(0)179 o2conf (622663), from other mobile networks or a landline network, dial the service number +49(0)1805-622663.

Three simple steps help you reach your goal:
1. Step Start

Start immediately: Use the conference PIN, which is displayed in the o2 conferencing portal for you, for one-time, spontaneous conferences. Use the lock symbol to generate a PIN.

Register: If you would like to use the conference PIN permanently and want to use additional services, including the web manager for online management, then register via text message or the web.
Text message registration: Just send the keyword "conf" to the number o2conf (622663). You will then receive a text message with your personal moderator PIN as well as your participant PIN. You can also easily register on the web.

2. Step Invite

Use the o2 invitation tool to invite your conference participants by text message or e-mail:

  • The conference PIN is already specified for immediate conferences.
  • Specify the time and subject of the conference.
  • Enter the mobile phone numbers and/or e-mail addresses of your participants.
  • You can send the suggested invitation text by e-mail or by text message to your participants or edit the text beforehand. The 6-digit PIN is already included in the invitation.

Registered users can send the invitation directly from the web manager by e-mail or text message. All you need is a simple login.

3. Step Dial-in

At the scheduled time, all participants dial the appropriate dial-in numbers. After the greeting, you are asked to enter your 6-digit PIN. After entering the PIN, you are immediately connected to your conference. If you are the first participant, you will hear music until another participant dials in.

All participants can speak during the conference. For that reason, participants should make sure that they place the call in a quiet area. Otherwise, background noise might disturb the conference.

With a multi-frequency telephone, the participants can carry out the following control commands during the conference:

0# Operator assistance
*0 List all control options
*2 Stop system message
*4 Adjust the volume
*6 Mute/unmute

If you have registered for the o2 Conferencing Service, as a moderator you can use additional control commands:

*5 Lock/unlock the conference room
*7 Turn the presentation mode on/off, which means muting/unmuting all participants
#1 Play back the names of participants
#2 List the number of participants
#9 Moderator ends the conference by hanging up
## End conference
1# Switch announcement of participant names on/off

The conference is over when the last participant has hung up.
